Everybody in life at one time or another will fall into a routine of some sort.
Complacency and fear of the outcomes will inhibit most of us at one time or another.
Routine is one of the most serious 'creativity' killers that are out there.
Now is the time to break the shackles of routine and break through the barrier to unleash the ultimate you!
Many people fall into a variety of different categories when it comes to routines within their daily life, be it at work or home.
There are those whose lives are structured into a routine. These types usually go a little berserk and crazy if their routine or plan is interrupted!
Then there are others who react to things as they come up. No plan, no routine they might think. They would be wrong!
In this article I am not going to advocate one method as better than the other. Quite the opposite in fact.
Both of these routines are mired in the habits that the individual has and each is potentially a killer of the creative, enthusiastic, true you that resides within.
So how do we break these shackles?
To truly break the shackles and unleash your true potential you must be strong.
Strong enough to accurately view yourself, flaws and all, so that you may see where the areas of improvement are needed and hence where your effort must be dealt.
Some routines in your life will be beneficial, the answer to a long time of testing. These need not be broken.
Other routines or habits in your life are not beneficial. Everyone has some of these. They sneak into our lives as we go about from task to task trying to live.
These are the ones that we should be concentrating on!
Examples of the above may include things like:
To truly give yourself the best chance to break the shackles and release your true self, the person that you want others to see, will take time and effort on your part.
It will not happen overnight.
Pick one of the routines or habits that you wish to break and formulate a plan.
Giving up smoking? Then turn down the cigarettes one at a time. For each one that you turn down there is one less you are having!
Do not bash yourself over the head for falling off the wagon. That is not a good use of your time. Instead analyze the reason that you did so. Learn from the experience and be prepared for the next onslaught!
Missed the gym today because of other factors? Fret not. There is always this afternoon, tonight, tomorrow or the next day to get back in there!
Now is the time to try new things! Every new thing that you try today will empower your subconscious with more ammunition and life experience.
Learn to live life to its absolute fullest. Try new things as often as possible. Do not let life go by without grabbing it with both hands.
At the end of the day, as you lie on your deathbed (hopefully many years from now) will you will be able to think back on all the wonderful things that you experienced in life?
Or will you be thinking 'If Only I...." with regret?
I know which one I would rather be doing!
