Ride The Attitude To Success! - Part IV

In previous chapters of 'Success' we have delved into the difference that attitude makes to anything in life, be it financial gains or spiritual.

What many people in the world fail to realize is that we must all have a definition of what success actually means to us.

What success constitutes for each of us is a unique thing to each and everyone one of us individually.

Success to one person may mean having a family, to others financial independence and yet to others it may constitute just being able to work from home and make enough money to have a holiday every year!

Therefore it stands to reason that before we can become truly successful, whatever the definition, means that you have to have a clear goal in mind when setting out.

This does not mean that the goal may not change over time. It most likely will.

What it does mean however, is that you need to spend a little bit of time in actually figuring out what success truly means to you.

So one of the steps that must be adhered to and most do not do is simply:

'Define What Success Means To You.'

Do not worry about this too much though as I know from experience that most people have a pretty clear picture of what success means but have not verbalized or made it an important written goal!

Write down that definition. It must be clearly stated in your mind to allow all your thought processes to understand what it is that you are actually trying to achieve.

So now that you have an end goal in mind and the very first step you undertook on this journey was to dream big we can start to formulate a plan on how to get from the start of your journey to the end goal and that leads us on to:

Making The Journey From Dream To Goal.

So now we have a clear starting point from which to begin. That is the point that you are currently at. Your end goal has now been clearly stated and can now be plotted on your mind map, your destination being whatever your definition of success was.

Time to fill in the blanks.

How are you going to achieve this? Do you have a product to sell? Do you have specialist skills at hand that you can charge money for?

Whatever it is that you will be doing to achieve your end goals is basically worth nothing!

Nothing? I hear you say. How can I achieve success without having anything of value??

Easy!

The most successful products and services on this planet are not the best. They very rarely are.

Imagine that you have come up with a new a computer, new software, new recipe, new book. You think that it is the best. Every friend and acquaintance that you show it to all agree that it is the best and would happily buy it from you. Are you now rich and famous because you have the best product or service in the world? NO! You are not.

Without the ability to have marketing that gets your product out to the marketplace and hence money in your pocket, the product or service that you are peddling will stagnate and be worthless!

I have plenty of friends and know of many more business people who are currently in the process of slowly going broke even though they have some of the best products and services available on the market today.

This is where it gets hard to achieve that end goal.

How do you market yourself and your products to the right people in the right way?
Be very careful how you go about this one. Your first instincts, if you have the resources will probably be to get some experts in to try and market your product.

Let me be very clear here,

There Is No Greater Expert In Your Business Than YOU!

Talk to the experts by all means. However only use those that you know are looking at the expertise for your product coming from you. I would be wary of any expert that tells me that they have done many campaigns for others in the same field as you for these are the marketing gurus who are expert in fattening up their own pockets and do not really care about fattening yours per se!

Time to get a few books on the subject of marketing. Go to a few classes, seminars, get-togethers... whatever and wherever you can glean information from people that are knowledgeable in the area of marketing. You will be surprised at the amount of information out there that is yours for the taking if you but put a little bit of effort into it.

If you are enjoying the 'Attitude' series let your friends know, if not LET ME KNOW!
